ℹ️Frequently asked questions
Can I record absence for a future date (planned vacation/time off)?
Yes. You can set a to-date that lies in the future, so planned vacation or time off can be reported in advance. The absence is submitted for approval.
Can I delete an absence entry?
You can delete an absence entry up until it is approved. Once approved, the absence entry gets a green checkmark on the right. After that, you need to contact your company's payroll manager if something needs to be changed.
Can I record absence in a month that is "locked"?
No. Once a period has been sent to payroll or locked, you can no longer record or change absences within it. If you're missing an absence entry from an earlier period, your company's payroll manager needs to temporarily reopen the period.
I can't find the absence type I'm looking for
Absence types can be made available only to selected groups. If you don't see a type you expect, it likely hasn't been enabled for your group — contact your company's payroll manager.
How do I record absence spanning multiple days?
Select the absence type, and set a from-date and a to-date. The whole period is then registered in a single entry — you don't need to record each day separately. The app fills in the days in between automatically.
I get an error message, or the app just "spins" when I open "Absence"
First try logging out and back in, and check that you have the latest version of the app and network coverage. If that doesn't help, contact support — please include a screenshot of the error message, your username, and which absence type you were trying to record.
Some types require me to write a comment
The company can make a comment mandatory for certain absence types. In that case, you won't be able to submit the entry until the field is filled in. Write a short explanation, and it will go through.
I've received a message stating that the self-certification limit has been reached
Self-certification has limits set by the company — typically a specific number of instances per year and a maximum number of consecutive days per instance (for example, 4 instances of 3 days each). If the limit has been reached within the period the system calculates for, new self-certification entries are blocked, and the payroll manager will need to consider an alternative entry.
My absence type can't be combined with another entry on the same day
Certain types are set up so they can't coexist with hours or other absences on the same day. If you're blocked, you'll need to remove the other entry for that day first, or contact your company's payroll manager.
"Sick child" asks for the child's name and date of birth
This has been deliberately added for absence types of the sick child / child's illness type, because the number of days you're entitled to depends on the child. You must fill in the name and date of birth for the entry to be submitted.
How do I record absence for only part of the day?
Some absence types can be recorded in hours (for example, a doctor's appointment or a few hours of welfare leave), while others can only be recorded as full days. If you're unable to enter a time or number of hours, the type has been set up as full-day absence at your company. If you get a "double booking" message when recording part of a day, it means you already have hours logged for that same time — adjust the hours or contact your payroll manager for guidance on how to record the absence.
