During a workday, you may move between several projects, work on different tasks, or switch between machine/personnel resources. When that happens, Ditio needs to know — so the hours, vehicle, and task are logged in the right place.

When do you need to fully check out and back in?
Usually you don't need to, but there are some cases where you do:
- Break/lunch — check out when you take a break if your employer requires it. Check back in when you resume.
- Ending the day — always check out when you're done with work.
- New role on the project — if you completely switch function (e.g. from machine operator to foreman) and it requires a new check-in, check out and back in again
ℹ️Frequently asked questions
I can't see the project I want to switch to — where is it?
You need to be linked to the project to see it in the list. Talk to your foreman or a superuser at the company — they can add you to the project, and it will then appear the next time you open the app.
Will I get the correct number of hours on both projects if I switch in the middle of the day?
Yes. The app creates one entry with an end time on the first project and a new one with a start time on the next. Both projects get their share of the day.
What happens if I don't have coverage when I switch?
The app saves the switch locally and syncs it as soon as you're back online. You don't need to do anything extra.
Do I need to check out and back in to switch machines?
No — switch resource directly from the main screen. You remain checked in, and Ditio registers that you're now on a new machine.
